Folder DC 102/4/13 - Photographs of 'Joy of Life'

Black and white photograph of Alfredo Avella's installation 'Joy of Life' at the Edinburgh College of Domestic Science, now Queen Margaret University. Although the institution was still called the Edinburgh College of Domestic Science when Avella received the commission for this work, one photograph is annotated "Joy of Life, St Margarets [sic] Uni Edinburgh". The name Queen Margaret was adopted in 1972, but the change from College to University only took place in 1999, after Avella's death. Based on the apparent age of the photographs it is therefore likely that this annotation was a later addition.
