History
Arthur Robertson Lyon was born in Mount Florida, Glasgow on 7th November 1897, son of Florence Arthur Lyon (nee Morrison) and James Lyon, a drapery warehouseman. An Arthur Lyon is listed on Scotland's People as having married Dora Ballantyne or Davis in Pollok, Glasgow in 1941. During the First World War, Lyon served in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders battalion. Lyon is commemorated on The Glasgow School of Art's First World War Roll of Honour.
