History

Born: 5 December 1913, Maybole, Ayrshire. Died: Dublin 1966. Worked as a grocers boy then in a shoe factory before training at the Glasgow School of Art. He first appears in the Student Registers in Session 1933-1934. The final entry in the registers is in session 1937-1938. He had met Robert Colquhoun by 1936, when he travelled to London on a minor travelling scholarship. Died in Dublin 1966 after being run over by a bus.
