History

Margaret Agnes Nimmo (born 9th July 1897) was a student at The Glasgow School of Art between 1915 and 1918. In her first year of study her home address was North Main Street, Wigtown but she was a lodger at West End Park Street, Glasgow whilst she was attending the School. The following years she had the same home address but lived at two different locations in West Princes Street (c/o Johnstone and c/o Mrs Loueaille respectively) in Glasgow. Margaret was a day student who studied drawing and painting, and latterly also pottery and needlework. She is stated as being a Glasgow Provincial Committee student, which was an educational agency who subsidised students who had the intention of becoming assistant instructors within the School or an art teacher in the district after graduation.
