Name of creator
Biographical history
William Gilmour Wilson was born in 1856 at Rothesay and was a student at the Glasgow School of Art. In 1880 he set up independent practice at 134 Wellington Street, Glasgow, and was admitted ARIBA in 1881 and FRIBA in 1905.
After the First World War his practice located in central London, and 1928 he took his son John William Gilmour Wilson into partnership as W G Wilson & Son.
Wilson was one of the founders of the Glasgow Architectural Association and was its first Vice-President.
