History
Annie Reid was born in 1902 and was a student at The Glasgow School of Art for the academic year 1918 to 1919. During this time she resided at number 56 Couper Street, just north of Glasgow city centre.
Reid was enrolled as an evening student of Design and Decorative Arts during her time at the school. Her occupation is recorded as an Apprentice Tailoress, which may be why she chose to pursue her studies by evening. Given the time period Reid may have studied under the tutelage of the renowned teacher and stained glass artist, R. Anning Bell. She may also have attended Design lectures by A. Aston Nicholas.
